My name is Mathieu Karsenti. I have 15 years experience of music involvement; from composing, performing on the London Live circuit, to songwriting for artists and for my own solo projects and as a guest session musician on the Wah Wah Collective releases distributed by Kudos Music.
My own mix of cultures; being half-French half-English with some North African essence thrown in, comes through in my compositions: I often blend musical influences from French Cabaret, British Pop, Soul, Classical, Jazz, North African Rai and African Percussion to create a ‘Soulful' musical journey.

I am an accomplished guitarist, bass player, classically trained vocalist, Beat programmer and remixer and I am currently learning percussions.

I recently graduated from a full time music production course at Pointblank College, refining and reaffirming my production and engineering skills, and reinforcing my true passion for music.

We produce mainly in the current genres: Urban, Hip-Hop, Soul, Funk, R'n'B, Acoustic and soundscapes; mixing digital and analogue techniques whilst sounding fresh and professional.

From a musician point of view, Soulem always aim at recording most instruments live whenever possible using a Mac based Logic Pro environment: no samples are used (even on Hip-Hop compositions), giving authenticity and an 'analogue' live feel to the tracks.
